Stan Lee e Nathan Fillion sono stati premiati con i primi premi ai Geekie Awards 2013.

La cerimonia di premiazione dei Geekie Awards, tenutasi Domenica sera presso l'Avalon Club di Hollywood, riconosce creatori indipendenti, artisti e registi al mondo geek creato da Kristen Nedopak.

Stan Lee ha ricevuto il premio alla carriera, che è stato presentato da Seth Green. Nathan Fillion è stato onorato con il premio Geek of the Year, presentato da Samm Levine, Natasha Melnick e Sarah Hagan. Jesse Heiman ha accettato il premio a nome di Fillion, quest'ultimo non presente alla premiazione. Inoltre, il team JPL Mars Rover Curiosity della NASA è stato onorato con il premio Cred Geek da Marc Evan Jackson.

Tra i presentatori ci sono stati anche Magda Apanowicz, Ralph Garman, Tim Jo, Richard Hatch, Grant Imahara, Kevin Shinick, Andrew Bowe, Keahu Kahuanui, Clare Kramer, Miracle Laurie, Chase Masterson, Chris Gore, Mark Christopher Lawrence, Ashley Esqueda, Bonnie Burton, Jenna Busch e Stephanie Thorpe.
