TRAMA

Micha e' una giovane e promettente cantante, profondamente innamorata di Caleb, affermato cantante hip hop, suo partner nel lavoro e nella vita. La ragazza ama talmente il suo compagno da non riconoscere la sua indole prevaricatrice e violenta. L'ennesima violenza di Caleb spedisce Micha in ospedale, ma la ragazza si rifiuta di denunciarlo. Il caso si trasforma presto in un circo mediatico.

The detectives respond to a domestic abuse call. A prominent R&B singer, Mischa, was brutally beaten by her rapper boyfriend, and the detectives head to the recording studio to investigate. Mischa tells them that her boyfriend, Caleb, is responsible. Amaro and Fin head to a nearby club to place Caleb under arrest. Back at the station, Caleb's lawyer arrives and warns the detectives to back off, but Munch declines the offer. The detectives decide to track down some of the people who witnessed the assault. Unfortunately, all of the witnesses are unwilling to testify against Caleb. Rollins has better luck with the record producer, who reluctantly gives her an eyewitness testimony. Benson and Barba meet with Mischa, who is upset because the detectives are trying to press charges against Caleb. Mischa is initially unwilling to testify in court, but she eventually comes around. In the bail hearing, Barba manages to convince the judge to sign a restraining order to keep Caleb away from Mischa. Benson tries to persuade her to continue with the trial, but Mischa refuses. Later, Benson tries to convince Barba to proceed with the charges without Mischa. Barba confronts Caleb and his lawyer and convinces Caleb to plead to a lesser charge and publicly apologize. Caleb appears on a talk show and apologizes to Mischa. Caleb posts a photo on Twitter of him with Mischa, and the detectives head to Mischa's apartment to arrest him for violating his restraining order. Back in arraignment, Caleb sweet-talks his way out of a jail sentence. Outside the courtroom, Caleb shows Benson and Amaro a new tattoo he has, featuring a picture of Mischa's beat up face. Amaro finds marijuana in Caleb's jacket and arrests him again on the spot. Caleb immediately posts bail and heads to a nightclub. Fin decides to ask Mischa's manager, Brass, to help convince Mischa that Caleb is dangerous. Brass agrees with Fin, but he says it's out of his control. Fin asks Brass to keep an eye on Mischa, and Brass tells Fin that she and Caleb will be at an album release party that night. Later, Fin gets a call from Brass, who tells him that Caleb snuck into the party. The call cuts out, and Fin orders everyone to the club. By the time they arrive, shots have been fired in the club. The detectives find Mischa unconscious on the floor, and Brass dead from a gunshot wound. Any witnesses aren't talking. Mischa is taken away in an ambulance. Later, in the hospital, Mischa says she didn't see anything. Rollins and Fin call Caleb in for another round of questioning, but Caleb stonewalls them. The detectives have no witnesses, no evidence and no leads to go on. The next day, Mischa arrives at Barba's office and coincidentally runs into Brass's wife and son. Barba hopes that the encounter will convince Mischa to testify against Caleb. In Barba's office, Benson questions Mischa about the events in the club, trying to give her one more opportunity to do the right thing. Mischa tells Benson about Caleb's history of physical abuse, and eventually she agrees to testify against him for shooting Brass. The next day in court, Mischa takes the stand and has a sudden change of heart. She goes back on her story, claiming that Caleb was not at the party and that she didn't see who shot Brass. Barba's case quickly falls apart. Later, Amaro discovers that Caleb called Mischa the night before and convinced her not to testify. Mischa and Caleb flee the country immediately after the trial.
