TRAMA

Un bambino è scomparso. Benson e Stabler interrogano il vicino tredicenne, ma il suo racconto li lascia perplessi, anche perché gli indizi sembrano puntare su di lui.

xHowever, upon investigation Novak and Huang realize that Jake was not abused, but rather the one abusing. Everyone at the camp admits he is a very disturbed child and that he will kill again if set free at 18. Back in court, it is too late to change the trial. Brett finds out the truth about Jakes sociopathic tendencies and becomes enraged. He grabs a gun from the court officer, shoots and kills Jake. In his trial, it must be discerned if Brett was acting as a grieving father or a psychiatrist taking the law in his own hands. Brett is acquitted and admits that he knew what he was doing, but the difference between Jake and himself, he would never do it again. A 5-year-old boy disappears from a playground where several birthday parties are in progress. Benson and Stabler follow a few dead end leads of local child molesters until they meet the boy's thirteen year old neighbor, Jake, who witnessed the boy being watched by a man earlier that day. The boy is found dead by suffocation; tiny pebbles found in his trachea. The pebbles are a perfect match and have the fingerprints of the next-door neighbor, Jake. Jake admits to the crime but claims he's been disturbed ever since he returned from camp the victims father, a psychiatrist, suggested. He claims they people there threatened and abused him. The father, Brett, feeling guilty about the abuse the boy suffered at his suggestions tries to get the boys trial plead in a juvenile court rather than be tried as an adult.
