TRAMA

Indagando su una serie di stupri collegati a un'agenzia di consegne, Benson scopre il colpevole. Ma occorre la testimonianza della sua fidanzata.

Benson and Stabler investigate a possible serial rapist when three successful, attractive 30-something females all report similar assaults. The suspect in the case, a former doctor whose license was revoked for sleeping with patients, appears to feel the need to exert his power and control over every woman he meets including Benson with whom he shares a drink before following her home. Mike, the suspect, falls right into the trap and is arrested and booked on 3 counts of rape. After fiercely denying the charges, Mike convinces girlfriend Cora to lie and confirm his false alibi, but when Benson reveals Mike's heinous crimes, Cora gives in and tells the truth. Not going down easy, Mike and his powerful attorney succeed in convincing the judge to throw out key evidence while at the same time Mike continues to manipulate an unstable Cora from behind bars. He tricks Cora into a jailhouse wedding, steers her clear of her protective mother, and repeatedly proclaims his love and devotion in order to break the spirit of the state's leading witness. When Mike threatens suicide to an already emotional drained Cora, she turns to the bottle once again and drinks herself this time to the point of no return, leaving her comatose and essentially brain dead. Mike and his attorney then push to have life support removed apparently to hurt the state's case against him, but when Mike's seemingly false story about Cora's wishes to rest in peace is independently confirmed, it appears her wishes were properly carried out. With Cora's testimony already on record, the state has enough evidence to convict Mike on all three charges.
