TRAMA
Un bambino viene trovato ad una fiera di Halloween, spaventato a morte e malnutrito, esattamente un anno dopo che era scomparso. Il caso ne ricorda uno identico, di due anni prima.
Fairytales are a funny thing. They seem innocent – but there's always a villain, waiting with a poison apple, an evil stepsister, or a hot oven. Near the University of Montana, two good-looking college boys are found dead, a working cell phone jammed in their mouths. The phone alarms are each set to go off at exactly 12 midnight. Coincidence? Or a message from this week's UnSub? The BAU go to Montana to investigate. JJ goes with the BAU, leaving her young son in her mother's care. She wants her boy to remain a child – oblivious of the real world, especially the depression and suicide of JJ's sister. Her mother reluctantly agrees but she's convinced that children fare better if they're aware of the world's dangers, rather than shielded from them. In Montana, Kate checks out the cell phone of one of the victims and makes an interesting discovery. Videotaped sex sessions that the now dead college student made without his lover's consent and then e-mailed to his friends as a lark. Usually, we'd call this guy a creep. But he was a creep with a secret. His boyfriend shows up, explaining that the victim was a gay man, sleeping with women to hide his identity. Does the BAU have a potential hate crime on their hands? Except, the other victim wasn't gay. Maybe that's not relevant after all. The one thing connecting both victims, besides being good looking college men, is the wound on their necks. It's an unusual shape. Through some deduction, JJ realizes that it was made from a stiletto heel, jabbed into each victim's neck. Their UnSub isn't a deviant male student. It's a vengeful woman, acting out her own twisted version of the Cinderella fairytale. Now all the details start lining up. Each victim is lured by the pretty, 20-something UnSub with the promise of sex. But she lures them only to kill them when they don't match up with her fairytale fantasies. Her glass slipper isn't just for show. It's a weapon. Unfortunately for the UnSub, on the third murder, she got sloppy. This time, there were witnesses. She met her victim at a bar, where she was overdressed, wearing a prom-style outfit that didn't fit. She killed her victim hastily in a car on the side of the road, leaving her shoe lodged in his throat when he came on too strong. Why the ill-fitting clothes, the BAU wondered? Being a pretty princess is part of the fantasy. But this UnSub was on a budget. She stole the dresses from her workplace – a dry cleaner shop. Garcia tracks down the address and the BAU is closing in. The BAU traces the UnSub to a local graveyard. She went with her boss' son to put flowers by her father's grave. Except, the grave belongs to someone else. When the boss' son confronts his Cinderella, she loses control, smashing him over the head with a flower vase. It looks like this young man will be her next victim, but the BAU come just in time. Spence lures the UnSub with a chivalrous gesture, acting as her Prince Charming. He puts a "glass slipper" on her foot and takes her to a waiting car, where she's met by the rest of the BAU, ready to indict her. With this case solved, JJ goes home to her boy, happy to see him safe and sound. But the UnSub's delusions have changed her. She decides to tell her a son about his aunt, realizing that reality is often more comforting than any fairytale.
